The MCPL Friends held its quarterly meeting last night. It was very productive. The Greenville Mayor was in attendance as well as other other interested citizens.
I am putting together an advocacy group to attend the Legislative Day in Frankfort February 9th. The rally will afford us an opportunity to show our support for public libraries. Senator Rhoads and Representative Yonts are members of the Library Caucus. If you want to make the trip, please contact me.
Our Cookbook sales are proceeding nicely. Sales to date are $1,628; We have passed the cost of the books and future sales will be profit.
2011 membership dues notices will be sent out soon.
Our big fund raiser, the MCPL Friends Book Sale will be held April 15-17 at the Madisonville Community College in Central City. The sale is being headed by Betsy Allen. She needs volunteers to run the event.
The Library Board Trustees will be meeting this coming Monday, January 17th at 4:30 P. M. in Central City. As most of you are aware, there is some controversy concerning the proposed new library and tax issues within our community. Friends members are encouraged to attend.
